Paul asks: I am on the process of creating a small
video production and don't have enough startup cash.
Incorporating in California is prohibitive. I keep
hearing commercials on the radio about a company that
can provide legal services for incorporation for
something around $200 recommending Delaware as an
attractive state in which to form the corporation.
What legal advantages are there for a production
company to incorporate in Delaware? Also, is this
service legally sound?
Michelle asks: Is putting together a business plan for
a video business a legal requirement? If so, why?
Jonathan asks: You mentioned in a previous podcast
that SAG has a low budget agreement deal for indie
producers lie me. What is the definition of an "indie"
filmmaker to qualify for this deal and are you aware
of any similar deals offered by the unions for camera
and audio crew?
Kayla asks: What does producing a sports video involve
legally? Is it different than say, a corporate video?
I'm doing a paper for school and wondered if you could
help with some info.
Iggy asks: I'm just entering the entertainment
business and was wondering what I need to know just
starting up. What are my first steps legally. Also,
how can I attract an endorsement or merchandising deal
using my identity and is it a good idea to copyright
my band's name?
Tony asks: I have no money but have an idea for a
video. What should I be aware of (legally) when
starting? I heard the first step is to contact a
lawyer.
